By 1968, when the new York photo session Yale Joel, The Doors had already recorded two albums, and was preparing to release the third — Waiting for the Sun.
At the peak of their popularity The Doors 33-year-old journalist LIFE Fred Powledge decided to look into the music so enthusiastically listened to his 9-year-old daughter. In his article, the journalist wrote: "The evil that is in The Doors, Jim Morrison. Morrison 24 years... and it gives the impression — both in public, so the scene — the man gloomy, temperamental, floating in the clouds and always under the influence of drugs." Posing Morrison with girlfriend Pamela Courson, with whom they had a long-term relationship. The picture was taken during a photo shoot in 1969 Bronson caves in the Hollywood hills in California.
