He captured many A-list stars for us, including Naomi Campbell, Julia Roberts, Sting, and Antonio Banderas. Ferri has had a long-standing friendship with Monica Bellucci. This allowed him to take many portraits of the actress at different periods of her life. (Caution! Nudity).
Fabrizio Ferri was born in 1952 in Rome. His parents were intellectuals, and from early childhood they instilled in their son a love for art and science. They were members of the Communist Party and often took Fabrizio with them to all sorts of events. At one of the rallies, 17-year-old Fabrizio made a successful portrait of a man with his wife and child.
The photograph was bought by a Roman newspaper and became famous. Unfortunately, Ferri lost the original of this first recognized photograph and still laments it. But this portrait fulfilled its purpose, revealing to the world a remarkable photographer who captured for us the cult personalities of the era.
In the world, Fabrizio Ferri is known by most as a talented fashion photographer and portraitist. But the Italian master also works in documentary film, writes music and books, and creates theater sets. He also founded the Save the Children Pediatric AIDS Foundation, which helps children in different parts of the world. Although, without a doubt, photography is the main business of his life.
Having started creating in the 70s, Fabrizio Ferri became the founder of a new genre of photography – “fashion portrait”. In his works, the uniqueness of the individual is in the first place. Now the photographer lives in New York and continues to work intensively. He shoots, organizes exhibitions and conducts master classes for beginners and professionals of fashion and portrait photography.
