Photographer Peter Lindbergh describes the concept of the new calendar as follows: "This calendar is a translation of individuality, sensuality and the courage to be yourself." In fact, the calendar changed forever last year, when Annie Leibovitz decided to shoot for him not long-legged beauties-models who have already filled their teeth, but women who change the world with their actions. But Lindbergh went further: he wanted to capture and capture the emotions of a woman who reveals her much more than the naked body.

Lindbergh decided to collect in one calendar the best representatives of the world of cinema from different generations. Among them were Julianne Moore, Nicole Kidman, Robin Wright, Uma Thurman, Kate Winslet, Jessica Chastain, Charlotte Rampling, Penelope Cruz, Rooney Mara, Helen Mirren, Lupita Nyong'o, Lea Seydoux, Alicia Vikander and Zhang Ziyi. Anastasia Ignatova, who teaches political theory at MGIMO, became a special guest in the calendar.

According to the Vedomosti newspaper, Ignatova is the stepdaughter of the head of Rostechnologies, Sergey Chemezov. Peter Lindbergh commented on her appearance in the calendar for 2017 as follows: "I met Anastasia at a dinner at Mr. Tronchetti's (Pirelli Executive Director Marco Tronchetti Provera. — Ed.), when we discussed the idea of a calendar. And I liked her, she is very beautiful. And I said that if I make a calendar, she will enter it, because I am very interested in her face." According to the photographer, he found himself in a slightly difficult position after learning that only world-famous actresses participate in the project, to which Anastasia cannot be attributed. Nevertheless, Lindbergh was determined to keep his word and convinced the company's management to include the girl in the calendar.

The shots for the calendar were shot in May and June, and the film crew managed to travel around five cities — Berlin, Los Angeles, New York, London and the French town of Le Touquet. Models were photographed on the street, in the studio, in nature. In total, 40 photos were included in the calendar.
