Pierre Woodman was born in 1963 in the Grenier family, in the French province of Auvergne, known for its forests and pastures. As a child, Pierre loved to disappear into the oak forests surrounding his native village, so at home he was jokingly called "the forest man" — woodman. It was this pseudonym that Grenier took for himself when he began to take his first steps in adult cinema.

Sometimes Woodman talks about a less pleasant experience. Once, when Pierre was a teenager, a drunk man tried to rape him. After that, Woodman decided to become rich and successful at all costs. Young Pierre started his path to wealth and recognition outside the box — he dropped out of high school and got a job as a bartender in a diner. He was unlucky with his employer — 13-hour shifts, salary fraud and constant scandals were only a small part of what Pierre had to go through.But all this hardened the character of the young man and made him understand that in this life no one owes anyone and everything will have to be achieved by himself, overcoming difficulties and suffering hardships. After the bar, the guy worked as a shop assistant and photographer, and at the age of 17 he went to the army to pay back his debt to the motherland.

After being demobilized, Pierre decided not to return to his dull province and went straight to Paris. There, an 18-year-old guy met the cult porn actor of the 70s Stanislas Peter. Woodman approached the adult video star in a cafe and expressed his admiration for his work.

For five years, Pierre worked with the master of adult cinema, bringing the Hustler that had lost popularity back to life. As a result, Woodman and Flint quarreled and Pierre had to return to Privat. But he was no longer satisfied with working "for his uncle" — the dream of his own studio was born, for the implementation of which there was catastrophically not enough money.

Woodman tried to find investors, but mutual understanding with the rich was hindered by the fact that they did not perceive porn as art. Therefore, I had to start myself, counting on my modest strength and savings. So Pierre began to shoot himself, having settled in Budapest. Why the capital of Hungary? Yes, because in this European city there were the most inexpensive apartments and the most accommodating girls.

But where did Woodman's signature format-casting, which brought him fame, come from? As it turned out, the director found this niche by accident and under very unpleasant circumstances. In 1991, Pierre invited a model with an Asian appearance to a photo shoot, who, after leaving the studio, went straight to the police.

At the station, the lady, keeping silent about the fee and voluntary consent to the shooting, said that she was raped by Woodman's film crew of 16 people. Everything could have ended sadly for the Frenchman, if not for the impressive amount of photos and video footage taken with this model.

The police made sure that in all the photos the girl was smiling and did not look upset, so the case fell apart before he was given a serious move. But Woodman has learned this lesson well — being naturally cowardly, he firmly decided that all his meetings with strangers will take place under the watchful eye of the camera.

Many consider Woodman a scoundrel who draws inexperienced and financially difficult girls into his dirty projects.
