No matter how cute these puppies look — they are on a serious mission. The main dog professions are police dogs, military dogs, firefighters, guide dogs, therapy dogs, and helper dogs. Mostly for these purposes, they take retrievers or sheepdogs, because they are smart and easy to train. 

The sense of smell in dogs is much more developed than in humans. That's why dogs are so needed in the police and fire department: they find drugs and explosives, search for missing people. 

Vests on dogs are not just a cute outfit. They inform people that the dog is working, it does not need to be petted and fed.
