The famous Iranian photographer Shadi Gadiryan was inspired by the style of the studio portrait, popular in Iran at the end of the 19th century under the Qajar dynasty (1794-1925).

She called her series of works of 33 portraits "Qajar". The photographer's models are dressed in the fashion of the time — in short skirts over baggy trousers and head scarves. But it was not without some signs of today's time, such as a can of Pepsi, a boombox, a bicycle, etc.
