Nevertheless, many spouses prefer to sleep in different beds. And the reason for this may not necessarily be problems in the relationship: the motives are completely different. Find out why happy couples sleep separately from our material.
Sleeping in different rooms does not always mean getting cold to each other. Three couples of spouses from the UK have not shared a bed for two for many years, and they do not complain about problems in the relationship at all. Moreover, they claim that it helps them keep their passion for each other and refreshes their sex life.
Here are the revelations of spouses who share everything in their lives except the bed.
When 38-year-old Lynda Labi and her 39-year-old husband Ben say they sleep in different rooms, people often ask if they are all right. The couple have been married for 15 years and believe that separate sleep and good sex are the key to their strong relationship.
The couple met in 2007 and started living together in 2009. They got married in 2016. Now Linda and Ben are raising two children.
The couple have not slept together since the beginning of the relationship. Once they tried to sleep together in one big bed, but they only survived for a few weeks. Everyone lacked personal space. Therefore, the wife and husband decided to sleep separately. Even on their wedding night, they booked a hotel room with two separate beds.
During their honeymoon, Linda and Ben visited Japan, and also rented separate rooms. Even after becoming parents, they did not share their personal space with their children. The kids sleep in a separate room, and the father and mother - in different bedrooms.
At the same time, the spouses claim that such separation does not affect their intimate life in any way. They say that they have more diverse and spontaneous sex: sleeping in separate beds only heats up the passion. In addition, husband and wife make love not only in bed, but also in the shower and in the kitchen.
For Linda and Ben, their relationship style is perfect. Resting in different beds, they miss each other and look forward to meeting in the morning.
53-year-old Julia and 51-year-old Matt Champion have also been sleeping separately for more than a decade. The couple has been married for 18 years and has two daughters. Julia moved into a separate room when the eldest, 15-year-old daughter was born, and never returned to the shared bedroom.
For spouses, sleeping separately is not a problem. Even after moving to a new house in 2019, they decided not to settle in the same room. Each of them organized a personal space to his liking, choosing bedrooms on different floors.
Julia says that the main reason for the separate sleep was her husband's terrible snoring. However, this did not affect their intimate life. The couple claim that they have wonderful sex, and the nights spent apart add freshness and spark to the relationship.
28-year-old Rio Woolford (Rio Woolford) and 26-year-old Lloyd Harris (Lloyd Harries) decided to sleep in different beds from the very beginning of the relationship.
The couple met on Tinder in 2019. Just a week after the first date, the young people began to live together. Lloyd was snoring very loudly and Rio couldn't sleep, so she moved to another room. Despite the great sex, the lovers could not sleep in the same bed: the guy fell asleep only with the window open, and the girl could only fall asleep in complete darkness.
In 2020, Lloyd and Rio got engaged, but they still don't sleep in the same bedroom. However, they regularly have sex before going to bed, and then go to different rooms.
The way you sleep completely reflects the essence of your relationship. Artist Holly Walsh managed to describe the nature of the relationship between a man and a woman incredibly accurately just by what position they are in during sleep.
