Our goal? To distill the distinctive features and expressions of each celebrity into our signature style: a single, unbroken line. It's not just about recreating a likeness but capturing the essence of each individual in a way that's instantly recognizable.
We invite you to join us in this exploration and hope you’ll appreciate the simplicity and recognize the familiar faces in their minimalist forms.

We've set our own rules for this project - a single black line of uniform thickness, drawn on a plain white canvas. No colors, no shading, just one line to tell the story. It's a constraint, sure, but also a means to push our creativity to the limits. By stripping the art down to its most basic form, we're compelled to explore what truly makes each face unique.

For this project, we opted to draw in a highly iconographic style, meaning we embraced the extreme simplification of one-line art. This involved using few details, a fairly thick stroke, and no variation in stroke width. The outcome is deceptively simple, but it necessitates that every segment of the line contributes meaningfully to the overall interpretation of the drawing. This means we can't depict every detail, so we must make careful choices while maintaining overall balance and graphic consistency.
The most challenging part was identifying the characteristic features of each face and drawing them with extreme precision, with the ultimate aim of making the portraits recognizable. This process required both artistic judgment and a deep understanding of each celebrity's distinct features.

We noticed that on our Instagram account, people often debated over the inclusion of certain personalities and questioned our reasons for choosing one individual over another. However, to be honest, we tried to remain as neutral as possible in our selections. We primarily relied on Google and the help of AI, specifically ChatGPT, to generate our lists of people to portray.
#8 Brad Pitt
#9 Taylor Swift
The time it takes to complete a single drawing can vary greatly. On average, it takes a few hours, but sometimes it can take several days to find the right "path" for the line. Our creative process is generally consistent across drawings. We start by gathering reference photos. Using these, we sketch the portrait either on paper or a tablet to identify the key features and guiding lines. These sketches then serve as the foundation for creating the final, vectorized drawings. We often get questions about our process, so perhaps one day we should write an article about it!
