In a remote corner of Iceland, on a sheep farm and a weather station, photographer Margena Skubac feels at home. There is no mobile phone here, and food is brought by boat. Margena is a vegetarian who lives among people whose main diet is meat and fish, and therefore eats mainly sweet potatoes and salad. When winter comes to an end, she sees how the animals bring new offspring.

Two—thirds of Iceland's population lives in Reykjavik and its surroundings, but Margena Skubac's personal Iceland is not one that can be found in tourist guides. "I think she was just playing with us. It was a very emotional experience that I will never forget," says the photographer.

Winter in Iceland is terribly cold, and summer is changeable and wild. Now Margene is on her way to Iceland again, where a piece of her remains every time she leaves.
