In the clip, a crew of 10 people on a flight from London to Los Angeles serves 233 passengers and rests in the onboard kitchen. During the 10-hour shift, the crew members walk almost eight kilometers.
At 8 a.m., 25-year-old flight attendant Emma Ashley, originally from Surrey, arrives at Heathrow Airport. There, the team has a short meeting with manager Mark Gallagher, who is responsible for in-flight maintenance.
He tells employees about special wishes, VIP passengers and security news.
Then the audience is shown a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, named "Lucy in the Sky" in honor of The Beatles song. In 10 hours and 28 minutes he will be in Los Angeles.
Emma pours drinks (water, juice, tea and coffee), serves dinners with wine, salted pretzels, hot snacks, ice cream, afternoon tea and sweets. She also distributes migration cards, offers passengers hot towels, and sweets before boarding. Emma works in economy class and in premium economy.
Despite being busy, Emma found a little time to read a book in a secret bed for employees in the kitchen.
Here the crew members can eat, drink tea and have a snack with a chocolate bar.
Emma says: "The flight from Heathrow to Los Angeles is one of my favorite routes. Especially when you fly out of gray London and you know that in a few hours you will be in LA. The flight was very busy, but the passengers were wonderful and grateful. They especially liked the ice cream in the middle of the flight, it was very popular."
Mark, 47, from Wirral, who has been working with Virgin Atlantic for 19 years, added that a great team worked on this flight and, despite being busy, they managed to have a lot of fun: "Los Angeles is a great route, especially now that the Boeing 787 is flying there. This is my favorite plane, and it is also very popular with our customers."
