Nuuk residential area. How people live in Greenland

The capital of Greenland cannot boast of a tourist flow, it is primarily an administrative and working city due to the developed fishing in this region. Warm currents do not allow the water to freeze, which allows fishing almost all year round. Let's see where and how the residents of Nuuk live on the example of a sleeping area.

1. Cozy fairy-tale houses of the old center, where, apparently, more affluent people live.

4. But this is not quite true, not everyone lives in beautiful cozy houses. There are also such slums.

8. The soil here is rocky. Houses are built on these hills. It is especially interesting on which piles the big house is held.

9. There is a mandatory srach near every house here. All things are scattered, but for some reason people and life are not observed.

11. At the end of the private sector, I ran into a mountain, which I climbed. A beautiful panorama opens from here. It is immediately felt that these places are almost deserted.

12. By the way, buses run from this residential area. Brand new Volvo. And new buildings are being built in the background, apparently a new residential area is being formed.

15. Couldn't help but punch through the local football stadium. Greenland even has its own amateur championship. The main problem why the local association is not accepted into FIFA is the lack of grass fields. I do not know why it is impossible to make an indoor stadium with artificial turf, but, apparently, because of the unprofitability and the small number of people on the island. In general, the B-67 club plays home matches at this stadium, which becomes the champion of Greenland most often. Instead of bleachers, there are rocky rocks, where we climbed.

16. And this is how a service station and a gas station looks in Greenland. In general, I have not seen car dealerships anywhere. And although it is hardly possible to drive a large number of kilometers quickly in Greenland, I was still interested in the question of how they carry out maintenance.

17. In general, especially new cars are not found in Greenland. Taxi drivers drive crossovers like Toyota Rav4 and Hyundai ix35. But hot Greenland street racers like clear boy boomers.

18. Locals also like to sell all sorts of junk. I, however, did not find anything of value for myself here, and in general there were few interested people.

19. Well, Greenland life ends, like any other, at the cemetery, which is located a stone's throw from the city center.

It is possible that many people will find life in such a place terribly boring, dull. But there are obviously advantages here. Calmness, absence of crime, problems, marketing race for "success". That is, it is not just any village, there is also a civilization in the right volume, but the main thing is that isolation from the outside world is still stronger due to its geographical location, and this is reassuring.
