After 18 months of freelance work with established New York photographers, Hom got the chance to shoot a photo book for the Vienna Ballet. The photographer spent the next six months in Vienna photographing artists and directors and eventually produced a collection of 80 fantastic shots. Returning to New York, Mark signed a contract with Harper's Bazaar. This marked a turning point in Hom's career, who quickly rose to prominence in the fashion industry and became one of the best celebrity photographers ever.
