It is difficult to single out anyone among them, because they are all masters with the rarest talent. But the Spanish painter Bernardo Torrens still stands a little apart, because he chose the path of a follower of the great Spanish masters of the 17th century - Zurbaran, Ribera and Velazquez. (Caution! Nude nature).

Bernardo Torrens was born in 1957 in Madrid. It is known that the Spanish capital is rich in cultural monuments. The National Prado Museum is especially impressive, where you can see priceless masterpieces of European painters from different eras. It was this place that inspired Bernardo since his school years.

The great Spanish Renaissance realists influenced Torrens' work. Like them, the artist is not inclined to scatter and concentrates the viewer's attention on the central figure of the canvas. The master is characterized by incredible precision and attention to the smallest details. If he paints a portrait from life, he repeats every little detail, right down to a mole.

The nude women in Torrance's paintings are beautiful, but they do not arouse lust. Like the classics of the 17th century, the artist fills his works with noble restraint and classical plasticity. Women from the artist's canvases are not desired - they are admired as beautiful creations of nature.

Bernardo Torrens does not need bright colors to tell his story. Many of his paintings are done in a very restrained, almost monochrome range. This resemblance to black and white photographs from the middle of the last century adds charm to the artist's paintings.
