No legs, but with the will to survive: how a young mother lost a limb, but has not lost the power of the spirit

Have Rantatalo Elin (Elin Rantatalo) lost his legs and fingers, picked up a dangerous infection during a holiday on the island of Gran Canaria. Necrotizing fasciitis destroyed her body. The woman immediately returned home to Sweden and was put into a medically induced coma for three weeks. Waking up, she saw that her two legs were amputated. Only through the love and support of my husband Olle and two children Elin could start with a clean slate and live an active busy lives.

33-year-old woman was in shock when I woke up and realized that he had lost his legs. Before the disease Elin was a successful owner of a Barber shop, a happy wife and active mom. She was looking forward to the rest of the island of Gran Canaria, where he went with his family in March 2019. Immediately after arrival the Swede felt deadly tired, but blamed it on a long flight. The next day she got the right hand and the fever broke. Soon there was hallucinating, and she fell into oblivion.

After the tests at a local clinic, the woman immediately transported to the hospital. Her health was rapidly deteriorating: the pain has moved from the shoulder to the waist, and the body began to turn black. Waking up, Elin found out what had been in a coma for three weeks. She began to refuse the internal organs, and her husband said that his wife may not survive. Fortunately, the worst did not happen.

The young mother moved back home to Sweden. She found out that he had a bacterial infection caused by the Streptococcus group A, which led to septic shock. Elin miraculously survived, but lost his legs and fingers. In may 2019 she had an amputation to save a life.

First, Elin was hard to accept my body. The woman was in the hospital for a month and returned home in early June. She had to adjust to a new way of life and get used to a wheelchair. Only the support of the spouse and children has given me power to move on. Having lost fingers on his hands, the Swede could no longer do things you love to work in a barbershop.

Everything began to build when young mother wearing dentures. First walk on them was difficult and painful, but Elin felt happy, independently making the first steps. My husband always told her that she is still the same beautiful, and the children soon got used to her new "feet".

Now she is proud to have learned to do many things artificial limbs. She is studying a new profession and want to learn how to run on the dentures. Elin tries to live each day intensely and vividly to enjoy every minute of it. The Swedish inspires others to not give up, no matter what, because disability is not a death sentence.

Meanwhile, the young American has defied destiny, surviving a terrible accident on the truck. He amputated the lower part of the body, but the guy was not going to give up and conquered death.
