Mothers and daughters

Reuters has presented nearly 100 photos from around the world, which presents moms and their daughters. Each woman was asked about her profession, at what age she had finished education, and what she wanted was her daughter. The girls were asked at what age they finish education and what they want to be in the future.

Mogadishu, Somalia

34-year-old Saciado Sheikh Yacoub with 13-year-old daughter, Fadumo Subir Mohamed in their house in the district camp for internally displaced persons. Sashida, individual private entrepreneur was your childhood dream to become a businesswoman. Before the age of 20, she studied. She hopes that Fadumo be a doctor. Fadumo finished school in 2017 and wants to be a doctor when I grow up.

As a child she dreamed of becoming a doctor, but, having reached the age of 14, was forced to leave his studies. Sulochna wants her daughter became a teacher Samika feels the same way.

Tokyo, Japan

39-year-old Manami Miyazaki and her 13-year-old daughter Nanaha at home. Manami, housewife, studied until she was 20. She dreamed of working with people. Now she hopes that her daughter will happily marry and devote himself to the family. She says it would be great if her daughter will be able to find a job, which will manifest her abilities and interests. Nanako wants to be a designer, musician or nurse.

Bamako, Mali

30-year-old Mind Ndiaye and her 9‑year-old daughter of Aissata of Golf at home. Mind, housewife, did not go to school. As a child she wanted to marry a local entrepreneur. She hopes that her daughter will marry a member of their ethnic group when I grow up, but will continue to study until the age of 20. Aissata says she is 18 when she graduated high school. The girl dreams of becoming a schoolteacher.

Deir al-Zor, Syria

39-year-old Bidaa Meme Thabet al-Hasan-um-Suleiman poses with her 9‑year-old daughter Mariam Khaled Musto from the house. Bidaa — Director of the school, founded by a group of teachers and volunteers. She dreamed of becoming a gynecologist and hopes that her daughter will come to school and pharmacists. However, she says that will allow Miriam to follow their own ambitions — any success daughters bring happiness to her. Mariam finish their education through the age of 13. She would like to become a teacher of the Arabic language in Deir al-Zor.

Langa, South Africa

30-year-old Tozama Kala and her 9‑year-old daughter, Mpho in the kitchen of his house in the Cape town township. Tozama enrolled in the University in 2002, and studying the paperwork. She hopes that her daughter will become a doctor. Mpho says he wants to be a teacher.

Tegucigalpa, Honduras

Susana Maria, housewife, graduated from school at the age of 17. She dreamed of becoming a lawyer. She hopes that her daughter will become a doctor. Alexandre Rubin left to study for 11 years. She dreams of becoming an agronomist.

Dortmund, Germany

Immigrants from Bulgaria, the 33-year-old Aysha Kocamustafa and her 11-year-old daughter Neriman at home. Aisha graduated from high school at 14 and worked in a Shoe factory in Bulgaria. When she was a girl who wanted to be a hairdresser. She hopes that her daughter Neriman can do whatever she wants when she grows up. Neriman wants to become a doctor.

Havana, Cuba

43-year-old Damaris Matos Curbelo and her 14-year-old daughter Ana Laura Villar Matos near his home in the center. Damaris finished his education when she was 21, and now works as a Secretary in the Department of history at the city hall of Havana. Damaris was your childhood dream to become a doctor and hoped that her daughter would be able to realize her dream. Her daughter Ana Laura says she would like to be a biologist.

Shepshed, Central England

43-year-old Claire Coyne with a 10-year-old daughter Ella in the house. Claire, a Bank clerk in the company Coutts, attended school until the age of 15. As a child, she dreamed of becoming a physical education teacher. She says that no matter what profession chose her daughter, as long as she was happy. Ella is not particularly thought about it, but over time, will try to enter the University. She still doesn't know exactly what profession to choose, but probably would like to become a dance teacher.

Bambah, Guatemala

43-year-old Alicia Chiquin and her 18-year-old daughter Delina JHA in your home. Alicia no education, she always worked the land. Her daughter Fidelina also never studied and collected when you grow up, work around the house and on the ground, like her mother.

Blackhawk, USA

52-year-old Denise Arthur and her 13-year-old daughter of Linnaeus Tibeto in your home. Denise Arthur — the ecologist-restorer. She has a doctorate, her education, she graduated at the age of 34. As a child, she wanted to study the behavior of animals. Denise hopes that her daughter will become Linnaeus biologist when I grow up. She Linnaeus would like to get a doctorate and become a marine biologist.

Gura Sutii, Romania

39-year-old Nikulina Fieraru with his 13-year-old daughter Flory Gabriela Dumitrache at home in the village. Nikulina Fieraru not working and raising two children. She hopes that her daughter Flory Gabriela will be a seamstress. Flory Gabriela dreams of becoming a pop singer. She would like to go to high school which is located in 23 km (14 mi) away from their village, but that the family could not afford. Romanian NGOs have proposed a scholarship to the girl still managed to get an education.

Pavao Of Pavaozinho, Brazil

45-year-old Raymond of Eliandra Alves (Alves Raimunda Eliandra) and her daughter Ana Paula Leonardo Justino at home — in the slums. Raymond works as a cashier in a supermarket. Her education, she graduated at the age of 19. As a child she dreamed of becoming a math teacher. She hopes that her daughter Ana Paula learns to be a vet. Ana Paula says going to school, and then graduate in 2025. She wants to be a vet when I grow up.

Gulu, Uganda

42-year-old Lucy Ojala 14-year-old daughter Amber Lilian at their home in Orange. Lucy farmer, who completed his education in 18 years. When she was a child, she dreamed of becoming a teacher. Now she really wants her daughter to become a nurse. Her daughter Amber Lillian says he doesn't know at what age she would finish education. While she doesn't know exactly what to do when you grow up, but she probably could have become an accountant.

39-year-old Tonya Giannari and her 10-year-old daughter Elena in his apartment. Tonya is a housewife. She finished her education at age 18. She hopes that her daughter will become a dance teacher when I grow up. Elena is dreaming about it.

Tepito, Mexico

51-year-old Rosaura Reallola with 13-year-old daughter Alexandra Yamileth in the entrance of their home. Rosaura is a cleaner. She finished her education at age 16. As a child, she dreamed of becoming a teacher. Rosaura hopes that her daughter Alexandra would become a nurse. Alexander finished education in 2023 and says that he dreams of a medical career.

Seoul, South Korea

43-year-old Kang Hyun Jung and her 11-year-old daughter of Yu Ha min in the living room of their apartment. Kang Hyun-Jung works as an accountant. She began to work, studying in the senior year of high school, and in 1999 he joined the Department of business at the Korean National open University, because I wanted to learn more. It combined work and study, and eight years later — in 2007 — graduated from the University. When her children grow up, she is going to defend a master's degree. Kang Hyun Jung said that her children creatively gifted, but the reality is that art is difficult to make a living. In childhood she had many desires: she wanted to become a fashion designer, and a flight attendant. She later realized his dream and became a flight attendant. Saman hopes that her daughter will find a hobby to you. Given tan said that he would like to become a fashion designer when I grow up.
