Mmm, what a yummy! The Indonesian restaurant serves noodles from toilets of the "toilet" type

A toilet-themed cafe where visitors eat meatballs floating in soup-filled toilets of the "toilet" type may not be the embodiment of the idea of haute cuisine, but Indonesians have hurried to join the trend of fecal-themed restaurants gaining momentum. Guests of the Jamban Cafe sit on faience thrones around tables where food is served in Asian-style toilets. The restaurant is located in Semarang on the island of Java. Jamban means "toilet" in Indonesian. The cafe has been open since April and now accepts only small groups of customers by pre-booking.

There are similar restaurants in other countries, for example in Russia and China, but the Indonesian cafe has a special mission: to teach people the concept of sanitation and promote the use of real toilets instead of traditional bushes.

In one of the toilets, a traditional broth with meatballs called bakso is poured, and in the second — a bright non-alcoholic cocktail. For those who think that all this is nauseating, there are special vomit bags at the entrance.

One of the clients, 27-year-old Mukodas, tells about his experience: "At first it seemed disgusting to me, but out of curiosity I tried the food here. I think the idea is quite interesting, because if you try to conduct a public campaign without such a curiosity, the information simply will not take root." 15-year-old Annisa Dea, another visitor, admitted that at first she found the toilet treats a little unappetizing, but the owner encouraged her by saying that the food was clean and cooked in hygienic conditions.

The owner of the cafe, Budi Laksono, a public health specialist who used to work in the local administration, conducts discussions with restaurant visitors and shows them videos, trying to encourage people to use appropriate devices to fulfill their natural needs.

Millions of Indonesians live below the poverty line, and this country has the highest percentage of open defecation, when people do their business on the street, and not in the toilet, which is why infectious diseases spread. According to Laksono, his cafe is a reminder that many Indonesians still don't have toilets.

The owner of the institution admitted that his unusual approach to the problem caused outrage in certain circles, since most of the country's citizens are Muslims. "Many critics say that such a cafe is unacceptable and contradicts Islamic laws," says the owner.

There are several other restaurants around the world whose owners were inspired by the toilet theme. For example, the Crazy Toilet cafe on the Arbat in Moscow offers guests to sit comfortably on chairs in the form of toilets and taste specialties from small toilets and baths.

The bright interior of the restaurant follows the toilet aesthetics: multicolored tiles on the bar counters and drain cisterns on the walls. Even the flowers on the tables are in the lining vessels.

The fecal-themed menu includes brown mushroom soup, sausages with mashed potatoes and chocolate ice cream. And all this is served in toilet dishes.

Fortunately, none of the toilets in the hall are working, so that customers do not go too far in their passion for the toilet theme and do not relax right here.

Poop Cafe in Seoul, the capital of South Korea, offers desserts and coffee in toilet style.

Guests can enjoy a variety of poop-themed decor. A tree decorated with notes in the form of feces with guest reviews is added to everything.

On the menu you can find small cookies in the form of poop in a bowl in the form of a toilet bowl, as well as latte coffee with drawings in the form of feces, which is served in a toilet mug. Apparently, this is the case when coffee is it.

In the Chinese province of Shanxi, there is also a cafe serving delicacies such as brown spiraling soft ice cream, as well as more familiar noodles and meat and vegetable dishes. Everything is served in dishes in the form of toilets, bidets and chamber pots. The restaurant itself is decorated in a toilet style, with shower heads in the walls and seats in the form of toilet bowls with pillows in the form of feces in order to make it more comfortable and softer to sit.
