Love multiplied by five: one of the five-year-olds told about life in a large family

24-year-old Grace Collins and her siblings were born on September 9, 1996. Their parents, who already had a child, wanted another one, and as a result, five babies were born at once.

At the time of the birth of the five-year-olds, the eldest son, Liam, who is now 27, was growing up in the family.

Bridget couldn't get pregnant for a long time, so she was undergoing hormone therapy. She conceived the quintuplets using artificial insemination, a procedure slightly different from artificial insemination. The babies were born in Phoenix, Arizona, away from home to be under the strict supervision of a team of specialist doctors.

After the birth of the twins, the mother was forced to leave work and completely immersed in caring for the children until they were 14 years old.

Grace says that her children had a happy childhood, despite the eternal chaos. Brothers and sisters never had to be bored, but the mother of a large family sometimes had a hard time. Parents had to hire two or three nannies to cope with the six babies. Despite the huge number of worries, Bridget managed to take the children to sports clubs and take them to entertainment events. My mother tried to give everyone an equal amount of attention.

The five-year-olds received higher education, and each of them got a good job. Sometimes the family was tight with money, because only Father William worked. A lot of money was spent on food — no joke, to feed such a horde. There were not enough funds for a vacation abroad. In the summer, the family went on vacation to relatives in Michigan.

Now that everyone is working, there are no problems with money. Now Bridget, she is surrounded by the care and attention of children.

Of all the five-year-olds, only one sister is in a relationship. Grace says that the person who first enters their large family will find it a little difficult to get used to the noisy environment. Therefore, brothers and sisters are very serious about choosing their second halves.

Now each of the siblings lives separately in Chicago. The family gets together only three or four times a year, but often relatives meet in twos or threes.

Grace can't imagine growing up alone. The girl is happy to be part of a large family, she has gained a huge experience of social connections, communicating with friends of brothers and sisters.

The five-year-olds are used to doing everything together and can't imagine their lives without each other. Over the years, the bond between them only grows stronger.
