Janine contracted necrotizing fasciitis, an infection that destroys the soft tissues of the body, during chemotherapy. The skin began to rot, and doctors were forced to remove most of it, which led to disfigurement of the face.

The first operation was performed on the girl at the age of five. Doctors tried to restore the cheek. After that, Janine underwent two operations a year until she was 15 years old. Most of them were reconstructive. Unfortunately, they did not bring the desired result. Janine decided to stop, tired of exhausting surgical interventions.

In addition to the fact that the infection destroyed part of the woman's face, it damaged the gums, and many teeth collapsed. As a result, Janine has only 7 teeth left, and some of them are also damaged.
