Lauren unexpectedly turned out to be a good author and her work, according to experts, is easy and fascinating to read.

Prince Jeffrey Bolkiah is officially married to five women. It would seem that why does he need a harem, especially since no one limits him in the number of wives. But the thing is that a harem in the east is not a necessity. It's like an expensive Swiss watch on a banker's hand. It is not necessary to find out from them what time it is, it is important that the accessory reflects the high status of the owner.

It was exactly the same with Jeffrey's harem. Allegorically speaking, most of his concubines never "showed him the time." According to Gillian, they simply demonstrated the coolness and income level of the prince. All the inhabitants of the harem were in it absolutely voluntarily and received a generous reward for it.

Almost all the concubines of the sultan's relative were models, TV presenters and actresses. They were residents of Europe and the USA. They got into the harem according to the same scenario. As for intimacy, according to Lauren, many girls have been in Prince Jeffrey's concubines for two years, but have not visited his bedroom. But on the other hand, almost all the ladies rendered secular services to the owner of the harem. They should be ready to take part in the Prince's dinner with business partners. Bolkiah was usually not petty and was accompanied by 12 to 24 concubines.

For their not too burdensome labors, the inhabitants of the harem received a salary. At the time when Lauren lived there, it was 20 thousand US dollars a week. Today, this amount is equivalent to 34 thousand dollars (2.1 million rubles). But that's not all. The prince, being in a good mood, and this is not uncommon for very rich people, gave the girls generous gifts. In part, this extravagance was one of the reasons for the charges of embezzlement.

Despite all of the above, the atmosphere in the harem of the Brunei prince cannot be called healthy. The girls were desperately bored and because of this they constantly gossiped and wove intrigues against each other. They also fought for the prince's attention, directly related to the rich gifts, in all possible ways.

Gillian claims that she had a lot of detractors. According to her, it happened because of her high popularity with the prince. It is impossible to verify Lauren's words now, but she says that she was the second most popular in the harem. Jeffrey paid more attention only to a girl named Fiona.

The unfriendly atmosphere was one of the reasons why Lauren did not renew the contract. During the time spent in the harem, the girl earned a lot of money and received many precious gifts. She left Brunei and settled in Los Angeles, where she lives happily. A book about life in a modern harem made Gillian even richer. It has now been translated into 18 languages and is sold worldwide.

The former concubine of the eastern harem married the bassist of the band Weezer. The couple adopted a child from Ethiopia and, apparently, are quite happy. Gillian, inspired by the success of her first book, continues to write. Soon we can expect new bestsellers by her authorship.

And Prince Jeffrey, who has spent more than $ 15 billion, still lives luxuriously in his native Brunei. True, he has lost many privileges, but he still does not suffer. He is suing numerous creditors and prefers to be in the shadow of his royal brother, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah.
