It is a curious fact that "Apophis" is a huge serpent in Egyptian mythology, personifying evil, darkness. His goal was to devour the Sun so that eternal darkness would reign on Earth.

An asteroid was named in honor of this serpent god, about which everyone predicted that it would collide with the Earth in 2013. Apophis (asteroid), of course, did not collide with the Earth, and now everyone is predicting its collision with our planet in 2029 and 2036.

I wonder why Richards Donskis chose such a "gloomy" pseudonym…
