Lake Bled is the best place for those who love peace and tranquility

From Venice to the Slovenian capital of Ljubljana, about 250 kilometers, and another 50 kilometers you need to drive to get to the small town of Bled, which is located in the Julian Alps near the Austrian border.

1. Bled is the tourist mecca of Slovenia. It is located on the shores of the beautiful mountain lake Bled. A great place for those who prefer peace and quiet, as well as for outdoor enthusiasts.

3. At dawn, I went to Malaya Osoynitsa mountain. It is from there that a magnificent view of the lake and the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary opens, located on an island in the middle of Lake Bled. Turn after turn of the "path" serpentine, and after 15 minutes I'm already on the observation deck.

4. Somewhere I read that due to the specific climate in summer it is always sunny here, but this is not my case. In front of me, instead of the dawn sun, there were gloomy clouds in the sky.

5. On one of the shores of the lake, on a sheer cliff 130 meters high, Bled Castle has been standing for more than 1000 years.

6. After breakfast, we go up to him ... There are still enough places in the parking lot, but tourist buses arrive one by one.

7. The first feeling - I got to the Tallinn fortress. Architecture to a tee.

8. The walls of the castle also offer a beautiful view of the lake, the height is breathtaking.

9. The castle itself is very small. It has a cafe-restaurant, a museum, a forge, a printing house and a wine cellar.

12. After walking around the castle, its cellars and minting a coin as a keepsake...

13. ... we go down to walk along the embankment, ride a boat and feed the fish.

14. I would love to fish here, but they say you need a license for this.

15. Looking at the turquoise crystal clear water of this lake, I could not resist and still took a swim, despite the not very warm weather and the complete absence of those who wanted to. For me, the temperature is so comfortable, although much cooler than the Adriatic.

16. Bled is a truly unique and beautiful place, a must see. But to stay here longer than a couple of days, I would not. In order for people to stay at least for a week, some sports and cultural events are constantly organized here, especially in summer.

Not far from Lake Bled there is the Triglav National Park. Twenty minutes by car. I recommend combining these two places.
