Kissing dinosaurs of Eren Hot in China

In the far north of China, on the Sino-Mongolian border, near the city of Eren Hot, you will find statues of two towering apatosaurs. These dinosaurs are on both sides of the main highway, their necks stretching towards each other, as if they want to kiss. Each statue is 34 meters wide and 19 meters high. The span of both reaches 80 meters. And on the ground next to these giants, you will find many small statues of other dinosaurs.

1. Eren Hot is located in the Gobi Desert, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

2. The city was founded as the only train trading route between Inner and Outer Mongolia back in the 1950s, but the region began to attract world attention as early as the 1920s after dinosaur fossils were discovered here.

3. Eren Hot is called the "city of dinosaurs" because once upon a time dinosaurs really lived here.

4. In the Cretaceous period 70 million years ago, Eren Hot was a real paradise of lakes, swamps and dense forests.

5. More than 20 varieties of dinosaurs lived here, but the most famous of them was the Gigantoraptor - a huge, bird-like predator 8 meters long, the remains of which were found here in 2005.

6. Many remains have been found in the area, including the largest and best preserved in all of Asia.

7. In addition to the beautiful boulevard, the city also has a dinosaur museum and a Dinosaur Tale theme park.

8. The Kissing Dinosaur Arch was built in 2007 to show that the region is a true dinosaur hotspot.
