Journey through the most fragrant region of France

Categories: Europe | Nature | Travel

The glory of the most fragrant region of France has Provence - Alpes - Cote d'Azur. This is the land of millions of flowers and vineyards. It is in Provence that 80% of all lavender used in the world is grown. Oils, soaps, perfumes, cosmetics and much more are produced from it. The lavender fields, which bloom for only one month a year, attract artists, photographers and ordinary tourists from all over the world. Another symbol of the region is the legendary bouillabaisse soup. Every guest must taste this dish without fail. In an expensive restaurant, the cost of a dish varies from €200 to €400 per serving, in an ordinary cafe - about €40. It is worth noting that initially bouillabaisse was a dish of poor fishermen, but today expensive varieties of fish are used to make soup.

The region includes the departments of Bouches-du-Rhone, Var, Vaucluse, Hautes-Alpes, Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, Alpes-Maritimes. Marseille is the main city.
