Italian role-players went to Vesuvius to drop the "Ring of Omnipotence"into the mouth

In Italy, a group of fans of the work of John Ronald Ruel Tolkien decided to repeat the feat of the heroes of the Lord of the Rings saga and throw the ring into the mouth of a volcano. Adjusted for technological progress, they could have set off on a tourist bus, but the guys decided to shake the old days and reach their goal – Vesuvius, with their own feet.
Four hobbits, two people, a wizard, an elf and a dwarf took part in the epic journey. Okay, just nine guys who are passionate about Middle-Earth in themed costumes. Instead of the mystical fiery mountain Orodruin, the Hobbits and the company directed their steps to the only volcano in the country, Vesuvius.
The guys started on the road on August 27 and today they have mastered 350 km on foot. However, they do not go through the Shire, Rohan and Mordor, but through quite civilized Italy. To compensate for the lack of dangerous adventures, Tolkienists arrange spectacular photo shoots in picturesque places, repeating scenes from their favorite work. Apparently, their mission is nearing the end and not today or tomorrow they will throw the ring into the mouth of Vesuvius.
When asked by journalists about what they would do after getting rid of the ring, the guys frankly admitted that they would go to the nearest bar and throw a festive party to properly celebrate the end of the adventure. Whether it will be done on foot and the return journey, the guys have not yet decided.
Nicholas Gentile, a 37 – year-old pastry chef from Buccianico in the Abruzzo region, organized a wonderful voyage to Vesuvius. He has been interested in the work of Tolkien for many years and, perhaps, can be considered the most ardent fan of him in Italy. Nicholas has a dream – to build a real hobbit house with an area of 400 square meters in his native places. meters.
The purpose of the grandiose construction is not just to attract tourists to their native village, but also to popularize life in harmony with nature. Gentile claims that he has already started to go to his goal. Although he and his family still live in an ordinary house, but, according to him, they lead a special, fabulous lifestyle. In social networks, he describes it like this:
The lifestyle of a simple Italian hobbit allows Nicholas to successfully engage in his confectionery business. Other "fairy-tale heroes"have no less prosaic professions. The Hobbit Frodo is an engineer, another Hobbit Merry is a bank employee, the human warrior Boromir is a medic, there is even a theologian in the company.
Genile, who chose the image of the Hobbit Sam for himself, was not familiar with his companions before the start of the journey. He found them on the Internet, throwing a cry in thematic groups of social networks. There were more than 300 people who wanted to fight the ancient evil, so we had to arrange a tough competition.
And you know that many hobbit houses have already been built in the world, and in some places there are entire fairy-tale villages.
