Each of us at least once dreamed of starting life "from scratch". But it is not at all easy to do this, since the experience of a previous life and memories will not allow you to completely break away from the past. The same reason seriously hinders the cure of drug addiction. Memories of sensations caused by narcotic drugs often become a stumbling block in therapy. But scientists from Israel seem to have solved this problem.

Scientists from Israel's Bar-Ilan University have done serious work and learned how to "erase" memories of sensations associated with taking drugs. This discovery should revolutionize the treatment of addicted people.

Special stem cells capable of reaching the brain were taken from the tissues of drug addicts. They interact with the tissues of the sites responsible for memories of taking drugs. Such contact makes them "forget" the sensations associated with this experience.

Following this, new cells are formed that do not carry information about the intake of prohibited substances. After completing their task, the stem cells move to other damaged areas or die. Due to this, the brain of a former drug addict does not have any positive memories of himself "high" and, of course, there is no desire to return to his past life.

Israeli scientists have already tested the method on laboratory mice. In the near future, after some formalities have been settled, the Bar-Ilan University team will test the therapy on a person. The authors of the development are confident that the discovery can help not only drug addicts, but also alcoholics, smokers and people with other addictions.
