Instagram Report: Iceland
Categories: Europe
By Pictolic https://pictolic.com/article/instagram-report-iceland.htmlThe peculiar beauty of Iceland often attracts not only ordinary tourists, but also filmmakers who turn waterfalls and fjords into the backdrop for their films. The landscapes of this country have become the design, for example, of some scenes of Christopher Nolan's Interstellar or the series Game of Thrones based on the novels by George Martin.
TJournal has collected Instagram photos of Iceland to try and see it through the eyes of tourists and locals.

1. The entire population of Iceland does not exceed 325 thousand people, and partly because of this, it remains one of the safest countries in the world with an extremely low crime rate and excellent medical care. The Instagrams of Icelandic police officers with candies, clown noses and funny selfies also work on the image of the state as a place where nothing bad happens. At the same time, travelers are attracted, first of all, by the unique nature of the island.
The eruption of the Eyjafjallajokull volcano in 2010 led to a decrease in the flow of tourists, and to compensate for the losses, the government supported an advertising program aimed at potential travelers. Then, for example, the video Inspired by Iceland was filmed, which in hundreds of copies scattered across the network.
Iceland is called the country of extreme contrasts, the land of fire and ice: on the territory of the state there are both some of the world's most active volcanoes and some of the largest glaciers in Europe. Both Instagram users from among local residents and travelers strive to capture in their photos.
