On Tuesday in Brazil, police used tear gas to disperse representatives of Indian tribes protesting against the World Cup. The main demand of the demonstrators was to spend public money on social needs, and not on expensive competitions. Protesters threw stones and sticks at the police. Some of the Indians used traditional bows and arrows against the police. As a result of the riots, one policeman was hit by an arrow and was hospitalized. We invite you to look at a small selection of photographs of this slightly unusual protest action.
