Since September 2015, more than 360 murders of cats, foxes and rabbits have been committed in London. In most cases, the limbs of the animals were cut off, which the serial knacker later placed under the owners' doors.

Scotland Yard has been investigating the case for two years. So far, no one has been arrested, although the lead detective said that the circle of suspects has narrowed from 40 to three people.

The investigation began in 2015, when eight animal murders were registered. In 2016, this number increased to 114, and this year 246 animals were killed.

London police fear that a serial animal killer may switch to humans. Detective Chief Andy Collins says there is often a connection between the knackers and serial maniacs.

Tony Jenkins, co-founder of the London Animal Welfare Centre, has been cooperating with the police for two years in this case. "I wake up in the morning, feed the animals, my phone rings, I jump into the car and go to some God-forsaken place."

Eyewitnesses described the perpetrator as a white man in his 40s with short dark hair and possibly facial scars. But the police do not rule out the possibility that it could be a gang of criminals.

"It is obvious that he is a psychopath and has sociopathic tendencies. He's a very dangerous man," says Tony Jenkins.

Anna from Surrey lost one of her cats this summer, which was found in a neighbor's garden. "I cry all the time because of this. Every night I think about what he's doing to the other cats."

Animal welfare organizations have announced a reward of $13,000 for information that will lead to the arrest of the killer. Residents are urged not to let their pets out on the street unattended.
