The finale of the picture, with exploding skyscrapers, seems unshakable and classic. But in China, they felt that he was too anti-government and suggested seditious thoughts. Therefore, in the version for the Middle Kingdom, it was simply changed.
In the familiar "Fight Club" for all of us, the hero of Edward Norton deals with his alter ego Tyler Durden, played by Brad Pitt. After that, together with Marla Singer (Helena Bonham Carter), he watches skyscrapers explode. How could it be otherwise?
It turns out it can. In the latest Chinese version, there is no scene with explosions, but an interesting message was inserted instead. It says that the police were able to defuse the bombs by using Tyler's tip. The main character was arrested, declared insane and sent for compulsory treatment to a psychiatric clinic. He left the hospital only in 2012.
Vice reported that the ending of the immortal movie masterpiece was rethought by Pacific Audio & Video Co. Of course, this company is controlled by the Chinese government and acts in its interests. The "castrated" version of the film was approved by the Communist Party and only then allowed to be distributed on streaming platforms.
The first film was shown by the Tencent Video resource, to which the press immediately had questions. But the company ignores letters, messages and calls on this topic and, most likely, does not intend to comment on the event. Well, yes, everything is clear with these Chinese comrades. What to expect from people who even had an opera for only 30 years looked like this.
Netizens laughed at the "Fight Club" loyal to the authorities, but did not forgive the Chinese Communist Party for such abuse. A lot of memes based on famous films have appeared on the Internet, but with "Chinese" endings. To make it immediately clear in whose garden the pebble is, the pictures were provided with an image of Disney's Winnie the Pooh. It is known that this cute bear is associated all over the world with the leader of the Celestial Empire and is therefore banned there.
