Instead of TikTok, the country uses the Douyin service – a censored analogue, with carefully checked content. But this was not enough, and now children will be able to spend a limited time in the social network.
The Chinese company ByteDance, which owns the Douyin social network, has introduced new rules for using the service. Now children and teenagers will be able to use it only 40 minutes a day, from 6 am to 10 pm. Those who try to exceed the limit or visit the site outside of school hours will see a warning message.
In addition, ByteDance strongly recommended that users of the social network correctly indicate their age, as well as their first and last name when registering. Accounts of cunning people trying to deceive the system, when detected, will be mercilessly blocked. It is not yet known exactly how the correctness of personal data will be checked, but you can be sure that the Chinese will come up with something.
Before that, the rules for young fans of online games were tightened in the Middle Kingdom. Now they will be able to indulge in their favorite activity for no more than one hour on Friday, as well as on weekends and holidays. Game publishers are prohibited from providing services to young users of the services during the "game curfew"under the threat of revocation of their license and heavy fines. To control young gamers, companies are required to use personal data verification systems.
