Art ran through my family, as my late grandfather was a sculptor. I never got to meet him but my mother passed on his talent and taught me the basics of painting, always nudging me forward.

After I graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Bucharest, I struggled to make a living on what I loved most: art. I worked in graphic design and web design and even was a cake decorator. It wasn't till after I became a mother that, just for my son's amusement, I started to paint him realistic animals. It was a lot easier than actually buying them!

Painting on glass possesses its unique set of challenges and nuances. Unlike the forgiving and absorbent nature of canvas or paper, glass is slick and non-porous. This often means artists have to apply multiple layers to capture a true depth of color and maintain the integrity of the underlying layers.

With each stroke and layer, there's an intricate dance of ensuring the previous layer isn't disturbed, a dance that requires finesse and patience. Nature, in all its grandeur, has always been my muse. Whether it's the delicate petals of a flower, the intricate patterns on a mushroom, or the vibrant colors of animals, I find a deep connection and inspiration. The hummingbird, in particular, holds a special place in my heart. Often making its way into my pieces, for me, it represents the boundless spirit of art, color, and freedom.

While some of my works take merely a few hours, others require days of meticulous attention, depending on their size and intricacy. But time seems fleeting when you're engrossed in the joy of creation.

For me, painting is more than just a hobby or career choice. It's a deep-rooted passion. I've dabbled in various professions, but none brought me the fulfillment I found in the whirl of colors and the magic of shaping them into visions. Painting on glass isn't just an art form; it's my sanctuary, my therapy.
