Artist Seamus Ray has created a series of recursive self-portraits. Are you familiar with the concept of recursion? This is a kind of cycle — the object is inside itself and repeats an infinite number of times. Outside of computer science or mathematics, and in something visually creative, recursion samples are visual and extremely entertaining.

Each time such a portrait becomes more difficult, but Ray copes by collecting a large number of likes on Instagram.

So Ray first drew himself, then drew himself drawing himself. This model continued three more times, culminating in a multi-layered final portrait with a white cat.
