Hundreds of centuries in just a few seconds: looks like the restoration of the ancient ruins in the sifco

Ancient ruins give people a unique glimpse into the past and learn how our ancestors lived and what houses were built. Historians, architects and travellers equally admire the remnants of long-forgotten times. However, due to the condition in which it reached us, these buildings are often hard to imagine what looked like these once magnificent buildings, when life was in full swing, we could hear conversations and footsteps, and then the smell came from the kitchen.

Project Expedia raised seven ancient buildings in a series of gifs. In just a few seconds in place of conventional ruins rise high walls, appear and ceilings, we finally see how it looked ancient buildings at the peak of its existence.

The Parthenon, Athens

The main temple of the ancient city was built in the 447-438 BC on the Athenian Acropolis dedicated to the goddess Athena.

Temple Of Jupiter, Pompeii

The temple was built in honor of the God Jupiter in the second century BC and, likely, was the center of religious life in the ancient city of Pompeii is a small Roman town in the Bay of Naples. In 79 ad, the volcano Vesuvius destroyed the city along with everyone. The temple was discovered in the sixteenth century, and decades of excavations, we can imagine how I lived the Roman city of the first century of our era.

Pyramid Nohoch-Mul (Nohoch Mul) Koba

Coba is an ancient Mayan city, ceremonial buildings which were erected around 250-900 of years BC. The Mayans abandoned the city around 1500 BC for unknown reasons, shortly after the arrival of the Spanish conquistadors. Nohoch-Mul is considered to be the tallest Mayan pyramid on the Yucatan Peninsula and the second worldwide. Was discovered in 1800‑ies, but for tourists the place only opened in 1973 due to the impenetrable jungle.

The ancient wall was built in the first century of our era and stretches for 73 miles (117.5 kilometres) in the countryside of England. Historians are still arguing about the causes of construction. The most popular theory — the wall was built by the Roman Emperor Hadrian, to protect the borders from the raids. The wall was put so-called miliye castles FORTS that were built along the entire length, at intervals of one Roman mile.

Luxor temple, Egypt

Ancient complex on the East Bank of the Nile, was built on the orders of Amenhotep III in the period 1100-1600 years BC. After 100 years of Ramesses II added two enormous pylons at the entrance and outdoor patio.

The pyramid of the Sun, Teotihuacan, Mexico

Teotihuacan was built between I and VII century, but its builders and inhabitants very little is known. They built the first complex in the region and mysteriously disappeared.

The pyramid of the Sun is the largest building of Teotihuacan and one of the oldest pyramids in Central Mexico.

Temple B, the area of Torre Argentina, Rome

On the square are the ruins of four temples IV-II centuries BC. They were discovered in the 1920‑ies in the course of excavations. Archaeologists still have not found out who the temples were dedicated, so they are called the letters A, B, C and D.

At Torre Argentina, where the ruins are located, in the year 44 BC was killed Julius Caesar.
