But behind these neat houses, pubs and shops hides a completely different life, unfamiliar to most ordinary citizens. For the inhabitants of the hamlet of Spielplatz in Briquette Wood, Hertfordshire, form one of the few nudist communities that have been living naked since 1929.
Their lifestyle became public in 2014 thanks to a documentary about naturism. Among the residents of Spielplatz (which means "playground" in German) was 82-year-old Isult Richardson, whose father founded this community in 1929.
The houses in the village consist mainly of two-bedroom bungalows that sell for £85,000.
And although the "villagers" prefer to go naked, they wear boots, trousers or suitable clothes for household chores, for example, to work in the garden.
But trips to the local pub, bathing and all meals, including lunches, dinners and breakfasts, are practiced naked.
Earlier, one of the local women shared a heartwarming story about how life in this village healed her from low self-esteem and problems with her own body.
Tina Yates was embarrassed by the scar on her stomach after surgery and came to Shpilplatz on the recommendation of her nudist husband in the hope of raising her self-esteem.
Soon the pensioner forgot about all her problems, and the couple settled here permanently.
Although the villagers are not prohibited from wearing clothes (however, few people wear them here), there are always a lot of scandals around the village. For example, villagers want to force visitors and guests to undress if they want to come here.
