How movies are made in Bangladesh
By Pictolic https://pictolic.com/article/how-movies-are-made-in-bangladesh.htmlIf it seems to you that Indian filmmakers are often too zealous with dances, songs and kitsch, then you simply have not seen the films of Bollywood's "little brother" from Bangladesh. The so-called Dhallywood has been making numerous low-budget films for decades, the plot of which traditionally revolves around love and revenge against the backdrop of ripped-out special effects and hellish overacting of the main characters. Photographer Sarker Protik, who is an avid fan of Bengali cinema, went behind the scenes of the filming of Love or Kill Me and captured in detail the essence of the classic Bangladeshi cinema.
Since 1956, Dhallywood has been releasing 100 films a year, but now this figure is constantly falling due to the shift in attention of the local audience to European values in cinema.
