So was 18-year-old Letty McMaster from England. Under the Tanzanian famine relief program, she went to a foreign land to provide all possible assistance to children for a month.

1. At that moment, she could not even imagine what she would face in reality. Hunger and lack of hygiene products were not the only problems in the orphanage where Letty ended up.
Children lived in unsuitable conditions, and the attitude towards them was inhumane. At the same time, money from charitable organizations came to them only in a minimal amount, which is why they were fed only 1 time per day.
2. "Unfortunately this orphanage was no exception to the rule in Tanzania and it's hard for me to even talk about what I saw with my own eyes."

Instead of the prescribed month, Letty stayed with the children for 3 years. She simply could not leave them to the mercy of fate and provided them with any possible assistance.
Many pupils were not much younger than Letty herself and considered her a close friend. She was engaged not only in physical labor in the orphanage but also provided psychological assistance. Thanks to the brave girl, the children received hope for a bright future and did not despair in difficult times.
3. In 2016, the orphanage closed, and the children ended up on the street. Then the brave Letty took custody of 9 pupils, who were soon joined by 5 more.
"These children became the meaning of my life, we became a real family. With me, they were safe and received a proper education. I hope that I did everything possible for their happiness and became a real mother to them."

4. As a result, after 6 years, Letty's grown-up pupils really changed. One of them became the best student in school, and the other became a successful singer who even managed to get on the radio.
Of course, not all children become successful and famous, but she got a chance for a decent life, and a good education, which is already a lot.
5. Letty herself also did not leave her studies and managed to graduate from the university. Most of the time the girl spends in Tanzania with her wards.
In the UK, she opened her own charitable organization, and now she personally controls the finances so that the money is distributed fairly. In the short term, Letty plans to scale up to help other children in Tanzania who are on the street.
