Many stars and other representatives of the world's beau monde come here to rest. Exotic villas on the water turned to ashes, and the bliss of an expensive vacation was replaced by the tears of tourists filled with fear for their lives.
The fire started around 23.00 local time in the middle of the villa complex and quickly spread throughout the resort. Due to the strong wind, the flames instantly reached the kitchen and restaurant and engulfed other hotel facilities. Vacationers in a panic left the hotel on motorboats, saving their lives.

According to Trip Advisor, the chic Gili Lankanfushi resort has entered the top five best places to stay in 2018. The hotel is located on the North Male Atoll, near the Maldivian capital Male. Among the famous guests who rested in the cozy villas of the resort were musician Tommy Lee, actor Adrian Brody and other world celebrities.
Since the island can only be reached by motorboat, Marta, her family and other guests had to run to the end of the beach to escape.
London model and fashion blogger Lucy Williams and her boyfriend, fleeing from the fire, managed to take only their passports and the most necessary things. After the experience, the girl wrote on Instagram:
London model Lucy Williams was delighted with the start of her vacation in this wonderful placeThe fire supposedly spread from the villas to the restaurant and the kitchen of the hotelView now: many luxury villas were completely destroyed by flamesBefore the fire: the photo shows how the houses on stilts looked before that terrible nightAccording to the Maldivian Ministry of Emergency Situations, strong winds contributed to the spread of flames throughout the resortFirefighters and rescuers arrived at the scene only in Thursday morning.
Now the causes of the fire are being clarified. The losses incurred by the hotel during the fire are also estimated
The hotel management asked the staff not to lose their composure and to keep cool and sanity during an emergency. Thanks to the coordinated actions of the hotel staff, none of the vacationers were injured. The guests were given clear instructions on how to act in order to quickly escape from the fire.
After everything settled down and the tired guests returned to spend the rest of their spoiled vacation, one of the former directors of the hotel addressed them with comforting words:
The luxury resort (pictured) entered the top five best hotels in the world in 2018 according to Trip Advisor, Some guests paid more than $ 5,000 per night (over 330 thousand rubles)The hotel has all the necessary facilities for recreation and entertainment: spa services, yoga classes, diving and water sports center, tennis court, swimming pool, botanical garden, library, various boutiques and an underground wine cellarDuring the fire, all rooms were filled because Christmas and New Year holidays are the "hottest season" for tourism in the Maldives, a stunning lagoon with crystal clear water surrounds the resort, and everyone who lives in one of the 45 cozy villas enjoys this beautyNow the management of the hotel does not disclose the details of the investigation of the incident and does everything to make the rest of the holiday for the guests go perfectly
A corner of paradise, where no one thought about such a terrible outcome, turned into charred ruins overnight. The bitter smoke of the fire mixed with the bitter disappointment of a spoiled holiday. But the main thing is that everyone is alive and well. The question is whether the regular guests of the hotel will want to come here to splash in the lagoon again. Would you take a chance?
