6. Large Hadron Collider.

The world's largest experimental facility is located near Geneva, on the border of Switzerland and France. It cannot be seen from above, as it is underground.

Roughly speaking, the collider is a 27-kilometer closed tube where elementary particles are accelerated and collided to show how they break up into even smaller fragments.
