Had a good walk: a British woman spent a huge inheritance on drugs and booze and became a tramp

What is easily got can also quickly go away, while it is good if without devastating consequences. Lorna Webb, a resident of the English city of Cambridge, was convinced of this by her own experience, having lost everything, including the human appearance, due to an impressive inheritance.
The local Cambridge News newspaper reported that 51-year-old Lorna Webb had inherited 250 thousand pounds (20.8 million rubles) from her relative and was unspeakably glad of such luck. Of course — this amount is not at all superfluous for a family with two adult daughters.
It took a little more than a year for a woman to turn from a respectable mother of a family into a homeless tramp who causes a lot of inconvenience to her former neighbors. Under the influence of drugs, Lorna regularly appeared on Mill Road, causing concern to its residents.
It all ended with the fact that the townspeople complained about the restless drug addict to the police and she was arrested. On November 25, a court hearing was held, during which Lorna confessed to several thefts, hooliganism, as well as disorderly conduct on Mill Road.
In addition, among Webb's "arts" is an attack on an ambulance employee, which is quite a serious offense in the UK. Fortunately for the woman, the judges showed compassion for her situation, which she may not have deserved. Therefore, the sentence turned out to be quite mild — homeless Lorna was banned from appearing on Mill Road for two years, and also appointed a year and a half of community service for the benefit of the city.
Mill Road, Cambridge
I really hope that a fate like the one that lay in wait for Lorna Webb will not affect the residents of a Yorkshire village, to whom a rich countryman left a huge sum for the creative development and maintenance of the poor.
