This is a very picturesque place, with numerous tea plantations, spice gardens and mountain valleys. The hills are literally covered with a continuous layer of tea leaves, which gives this place an absolutely fantastic look.

1. Munnar - the most famous mountain resort of Kerala and a major center for growing tea, it is located at an altitude of 1520 meters, in the Idduki region.
2. Three mountain rivers Nalatkhanni, Madurapuzha and Kundala merge here, the name of the town is translated as “three rivers”.
3. The town is divided into two parts - tourist and "industrial", serving tea plantations belonging to the giant industrial corporation Tata (also produces trucks).
4. In 2000, Munnar was declared a tourist area. There are popular hotels located on the slopes of picturesque mountains covered with tea plantations.
5. Rest here is colored with fantastic views, the noise of the jungle and the taste of tea, several types of which are brewed in each hotel.
6. This hill station is marked by vast expanses of tea plantations, colonial bungalows, streams, waterfalls and cool weather. It is also an ideal destination for trekking and mountain biking.
7. Located at an altitude of about 1600 m, the city features a refreshing climate, with invigorating winter mornings and relentless torrential rains during the monsoons.
8. Bordered by high mountains - among which is the highest peak of the mountains of South India - Anamudi (2695 m) - it is also very picturesque; when the river mist clears, the surrounding peaks form a beautiful wild backdrop to the carefully manicured plantations that line the bottom and slopes of the valley.
9. The greenery and coolness of Munnar attracts mostly wealthy couples from Mumbai and Bangalore for their honeymoon.
10. However, more and more foreigners are stopping here for a few days, seduced by the wonderful views while traveling by bus from Periyar over the high ridges, among the lush tropical forests of the Cardamom Mountains, or the equally scenic climb up the Ghats from Madurai.
