Hugh Laurie
The House M.D. headliner admitted that about 25 years ago he wanted to buy the film rights to John le Carré's original novel The Night Manager. Then Hugh was younger and dreamed of ambitious dreams to play the role, which eventually went to Tom Hiddleston. During filming, Laurie once said: “I had to sit there and watch Hiddleston portray himself as a manly and charming Pine. It was annoying as hell."
In addition to his acting career, Hugh Laurie is also building a career as a writer - his first novel, The Gun Dealer, was published back in 1996, a few years before the actor gained worldwide popularity. Hugh Laurie's father, Ren, won a gold medal at the 1948 Olympics. "Gold" Laurie Sr. took in rowing competitions.
Olivia Colman
Undoubtedly, one of the most talented contemporary British actresses. Colman is the owner of BAFTA awards for her work in the series "Murder on the Beach", "The Accused", "Twenty-Twelve". She received worldwide recognition thanks to her participation in the films Lobster and Tyrannosaurus Rex.
In the miniseries The Night Manager, Colman plays intelligence agent Angela Burr. By the way, in the original version of The Night Manager, Agent Burr was a man.
Olivia is married to writer Ed Sinclair. It was love at first sight - the young people met in Cambridge. A few weeks before filming, it was revealed that Colman was pregnant and the script was rewritten a bit.
Among the devoted fans of Colman there is even actress Meryl Streep. Together they worked on the set of the film "Iron Lady", and then Streep said that Olivia is "a divinely gifted actress."
Tom Hollander
In the miniseries, Hollander plays the eccentric gay Corky, who is the closest friend and assistant of the series' main villain, Richard Roeper.
Tom began his acting career on the theater stage and in 1992 won the Ian Charleson Award for his role in the play "Everyone Does It" by the English playwright William Congreve. Tom Hollander often works in the studio and does voiceovers for audiobooks.
Tom Hiddleston
You can talk about this actor forever. Is it worth mentioning that it was Hiddleston, who played the hero and savior in the TV series The Night Administrator, who played the role of the cunning and power-hungry god Loki in the Avengers movie?
Even as a teenager, Hiddleston was actively involved in theatrical productions, and in college he generally became a regular in the student theater. Tom calls his main technique "not to play a character, but to be one."
Today, in addition to acting in theater and cinema, Tom Hiddleston participates in the programs of the UNICEF charity organization in West Africa.
Elizabeth Debicki
In The Night Manager, this delightful woman plays Roper's "bad boy" mistress, Jet Marshall. You may remember this actress from her work in The Great Gatsby and Macbeth.
The actress was born in Paris in 1990, and at the time of filming the series she was only 25 years old. Her favorite book is Play It Like It's Written by Joan Diden. In one of her interviews, she admitted that, like any normal girl, she would not refuse to get stuck in an elevator with Ryan Gosling.
Elizabeth recently joined the cast of Breath, directed by actor Simon Baker. This is his directorial debut. The film is based on the book of the same name by Tim Winton. Baker plays the adventurer Sando, while Elizabeth plays his wife Eva. Filming began in April. The film is expected to release in 2017.
