Erotic works of classic Japanese photography by Yoshihiro Tatsuki

Yoshihiro Tatsuki (Yoshihiro Tatsuki) — a true legend of Japanese photography. The work of this master covers a period of more than 60 years. During this time, the photographer managed to make a name for himself in advertising and journalistic photography. But many got acquainted with Tatsuki's work precisely because of his erotic works. Yoshihiro Tatsuki was born in 1937 in the city of Tokushima on the island of Shikoku. His parents owned a portrait photography studio, so we can say that he continued the dynasty. After high school , Yoshihiro enrolled in Tokyo Professional School of Photography, which he graduated brilliantly.

The parents hoped that their son would continue their business in his hometown. But the guy had other plans. Tatsuki moved in the early 50s to Tokyo, where he seriously took up photojournalism. He longed for development and fame, but soon realized that it was difficult to succeed working for someone.

Therefore, in the late 50s, Yoshihiro quits editorial photography and becomes a freelancer. He carries out orders from individuals and large companies, participates in advertising projects, shoots for magazines. The photographer does not forget about creativity. In 1965, his first book of photographs was published. The entire print run was sold out in a matter of days, and by Tatsuki came to fame.

Now the job itself was looking for him, and he could choose interesting orders for him. Yoshihiro gets a good income and time to search. In the 60s and 70s, he published one book after another. As a photographer, he was insatiable and bitterly regretted every missed shot. Yoshihiro Tatsuki once said this about himself:

The best erotic works of the photographer are collected in the book "Eve", published in the mid-70s. These are exclusively black-and-white pictures, delicate and refined. The book has become a real phenomenon in Japanese photography, since no one had imagined anything like this before.
