Artist Oleg Shuplyak was born on September 23, 1967 in the village of Bishche, Ternopil region of the Ukrainian SSR. He began to draw even before school, and received his higher education at the Lviv Polytechnic Institute. After defending his diploma in architecture, he decided to devote himself to teaching children. Shuplyak taught painting at the Berezhany art school for many years.

Among the works of Oleg Shuplyak there are many paintings in traditional styles. But it was his work with optical illusions that brought him worldwide fame.
