Our brain creates certain images where they actually do not exist, putting together a mosaic of objects and phenomena. It is in this genre that the Ukrainian artist Oleg Shuplyak paints his paintings. His works have a double meaning, which opens only upon close examination.
Artist Oleg Shuplyak was born on September 23, 1967 in the village of Bishche, Ternopil region of the Ukrainian SSR. He began to draw even before school, and received his higher education at the Lviv Polytechnic Institute. After defending his diploma in architecture, he decided to devote himself to teaching children. Shuplyak taught painting at the Berezhany art school for many years.
Among the works of Oleg Shuplyak there are many paintings in traditional styles. But it was his work with optical illusions that brought him worldwide fame. At his exhibitions, which take place in Ukraine and abroad, the artist presents paintings in the style of associative symbolism, surrealism and abstractionism.
Paintings by Oleg Shuplyak are highly valued by experts and collectors. For the merits of the master in the field of art, he was awarded the title of Honored Artist of Ukraine. But the artist also has a hobby that not everyone knows about. In his free time, he is engaged in church painting, creating frescoes in the temples of his native Ternopil region.
Artush Voskanyan, an artist from Armenia, paints in the same style.
