Audrey paints on wood, and, as you can immediately see, her work is greatly influenced by manga. Her images are airy, gentle, innocent and at the same time seductive.
The artist was born in Los Angeles in 1982 to ethnic Japanese parents and studied painting for two years at Pratt Institute, one of the leading institutions in the field of design, art and architecture in the country. Audrey last exhibited her works two years ago. And now, after so much time, the artist has finally presented her latest creations.

The technique of writing with tempera on wooden slabs gives her works warmth and depth. Her sharp graphic images combined with the natural texture of wood evoke anxiety and mystery. All of Audrey Kawasaki’s works are imbued with the spirit of Art Nouveau and slight eroticism. The images are innocent, but at the same time very seductive. Precision of drawing and soft color solutions also characterize Audrey Kawasaki’s work.
Her original works sell for between $5,000 and $14,500, with most of them already sold. The Japanese artist only seems to be getting more and more popular.
Here are some more of the artist's works from previous exhibitions.
