On June 22, 1941, on Sunday, Nazi Germany and its allies attacked the Soviet Union: 190 divisions, more than 4 thousand tanks, 47 thousand guns and mortars, about 4.5 thousand aircraft, up to 200 ships-a total of five million people.

In April 2015, the Russian Defense Ministry declassified unique photos, several of which date back to the first days of the Great Patriotic War. Previously, these personnel were in closed funds and were available only to archive employees and military specialists.
