She herself draws illustrations for her fairy tales, as well as for books by other authors. Her works tell about the magical worlds in which each of us would like to be. These are images from childhood that are close to all of us and remind us of magical colored dreams. Aisato plunges us into the world of dreams, turning back time.
Lisa Aisato was born in 1981 in Oslo, the capital of Norway, and already in elementary school she knew that she would be a writer. Later, her passion for drawing was added to her passion for fairy tales, so after ordinary school, Lisa entered the school of fine Arts. Aisato published her first fairy tales with her own illustrations in 2008 and they immediately started talking about her.
Authors from Norway, Denmark, Great Britain and the USA wanted Lisa to illustrate their books. Now her work schedule is very tight, as Aisato writes fairy tales, designs them herself and works simultaneously with several other authors as an artist.
Lisa Aisato's fairy tales are published not only in Norway – they are also translated into other languages, including Russian. But that's not all – the artist recently started working with the clothing brand Jankeh Njie Jamanca as a designer. When there is time left, "for the soul", the girl also illustrates the local magazine Dagbladet Magasinet.
Aisato's talents are recognized at the most authoritative competitions of writers and illustrators. In 2015, she was included in the top ten children's writers under the age of 35, according to Morgenbladet magazine for her tribute to the works of Astrid Lindgren. The award was called the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award 2015.
Later, she added the nomination of the Hans Christian Andersen Competition (International HC Andersen Award 2016) to her piggy bank of achievements. The most famous book by Lisa Aisato – "Fish for the Moon" (A Fish for the Moon), has received several awards in different countries of the world.
Lisa Aisato's fairy tales are light and cute, but many believe that there is a deep meaning behind all this. This is not excluded, since many stories for children contain not at all childish thoughts.
