6-year-old John-Benet Ramsey (JonBenet Ramsey) was found dead on December 25, 1996. The girl was brutally beaten and strangled just a few hours after a ransom note was planted at her parents' house. It happened in Boulder, Colorado.

This brutal crime remained one of the most complex and unsolved cases of child murder in America for several decades.

But recently, 54-year-old Gary Olivia, a former suspect in the death of John-Benet, was finally found guilty. He wrote to his old school friend Michael Vail in a letter that he killed the girl "accidentally."The Boulder Police Department is currently investigating.

On Christmas evening in 1996, John and Lindsey Ramsey hosted guests at their home in Boulder.

They put their 6-year-old daughter John-Benet to bed at about 21.00.

Early in the morning, at 5 o'clock, the parents found a three-page note on the stairs near the house, in which a stranger asked for a ransom of 30 thousand dollars for the kidnapped girl. The note stated that the kidnapper would call and give instructions on how to transfer the money to him. But, after not a single call was received, the police asked to see if anything had disappeared from the house.John, a wealthy manager of one of the computer companies, while inspecting the house, found the body of his little daughter in the basement.

She died from blunt force trauma and subsequent strangulation.

After the girl's death, there were many suggestions who could have committed this terrible crime.

The police found that the paper on which a long ransom note was written was taken from the owners' house. The killer could stay and write for so long inside the apartment when the whole family was asleep. In addition, glass was broken in the basement and a shoe print was found, but there were no footprints in the snow near the house, and the cobwebs on the window were not affected.In 2017, the film company Netflix made a documentary about this terrible case.

The director, an Australian Kitty Green, spoke with two hundred people who were somehow related to this case, but she did not receive the desired answers.

In 2016, the older brother of the murdered baby Bruce (Bruce) spoke for the first time about his innocence after the release of the sensational documentary film by the CBS film company "Criminal Case: John-Benet", where he was accused of a crime.

He was only 9 years old at the time of the murder, so the police cleared him of suspicion. He was officially declared innocent in 2008.

Later, Bruce Ramsey filed a lawsuit in the amount of $ 750 million for defamation of the CBS film company and the people involved in the creation of the documentary.
