Coronation of the new monarch of Spain

During the swearing-in in the Congress of Deputies, the 46-year-old monarch swore to uphold the country's constitution and said that he had great hopes for the future Spain. Felipe, who was considered the most enviable groom in Europe, promised to be a worthy head of state, "ready to listen and understand", and always protect the interests of society. After the ceremony in Parliament, he, along with his wife Letizia, drove through the streets of Madrid and greeted the citizens who poured into the streets.
