According to Nayan and Vaishali, a duo of artists:Â
The process of creating each figure begins with a sketch, after which the fur or feathers of animals are cut out of paper with a sharp blade. After that, each layer is painted with watercolor. Each piece is created from four to six hours, depending on the detail.
The works are assembled from many details, and the masters call them "2.5‑dimensional". The size of some crumbs is only about two centimeters. The finished work is often photographed in a "natural environment", for example, on sand or on a branch, which enhances the effect of volume and realism. The artists say that during these months they learned a lot about the living world.
With the help of their works, Vaishyali and Nayan want to share the idea of how defenseless and fragile beauty can be.
