Revered Buddhist monk Luang Pho Pian died due to illness on November 16, 2017 in Bangkok at the age of 92. Two months after his death, the monk's followers exhumed the body and saw a smile on his face.

Luang Pho Pian is originally from Cambodia, but spent most of his life in Lopburi, a province of Thailand, where the monk's body was returned after his death. When his followers removed the body from the coffin that stood in the temple where Pian served, they were shocked at how well the body was preserved — as if death had occurred no more than 36 hours ago. The monks took out Pian's body to dress him in new, clean robes.
